Nestled in the charming village of Naples, New York—just minutes from vineyards and scenic lake views—the Naples Hotel invites those who crave more than a tranquil getaway. Historic charm meets uncanny whispers in its century-old halls: footsteps in empty corridors, lights flickering for no reason, and perhaps a friendly ghost or two peering from the window. If you’re drawn to boutique lodging with a side of paranormal intrigue, this may be your perfect haunted retreat.
Hotel History
The original structure on the site was built in 1818 as the Lyon Tavern, a stage-coach stop in the region.
The present brick hotel building dates from 1895, making it one of the oldest continuously operating hotels in Ontario County, New York.
Located at 111 S Main St, Naples, NY 14512, it has served as a region-centerpiece for lodging, dining and local gatherings through the decades.
Over time the hotel accumulated stories of ghost sightings and strange phenomena, and was featured on season 8 of the TV show Ghost Hunters.

“Alice and her children” sightings – According to hotel history, a female ghost named Alice and her two children are believed to have died in the building, and have been seen in the dining room (Alice) and from upstairs windows (the children).
“Topper” – A mischievous spirit believed to linger in the hotel, responsible for objects moving, coat-hangers dangling from ceilings, and odd cold spots.
